It’s bad enough having to turn the keys of your new 2015 Mustang back over to the dealership for stupid quality issues. But this owner had to watch as his new car burned to the ground, after the dealer supposedly fixed all the issues.

Mustang6G forum member 5ohslow posted about the incident in a thread here. Apparently, 50hslow had to take his 2015 Mustang GT to the dealership for some warranty issues. But on his way back, the car started to smoke.

“Just picked my car back up from the dealership for some warranty issues. Driving on the freeway and noticed some white smoke coming from the hood. It progressively got worse so I pulled over into the shoulder. Instinctively thought the car was over heating and it was steam from the radiator. So I proceeded to pop the hood as flames burst from the edges of the hood. Here’s the outcome. Insurance is going to love me,” wrote 50hslow.

According to the post, nothing was done to the car in terms of modifications, and it only had 6,000 miles on the odometer. Luckily, 50hsl0w safely made it out of the car before it essentially melted.

So what do you guys think could have happened? Is this just a case of dealer technician error, or potentially something wrong with the car?
