Ford to Debut Exclusive Mustang Inspired Shirt Collection
There typically isn’t a time frame on how long one should celebrate a birthday as big as a 50th Anniversary, so we certainly don’t expect the momentum to start slowing down yet for the Mustang.
Just as a lot of the major car events are wrapping up for the pony car, Ford has announced another campaign aimed at honoring the five decade mark centered on a one-of-a-kind shirt collection.
The project, the Mustang Unleashed Collection, is the first-ever global collaboration of its kind with designers to create an apparel collection.
Participating designers include Anna Sui, Rogan, Paula Cademartori, CO|TE and Pamela Love.
“Mustang embraces passion, power, adventure and freedom, and by partnering with top designers known for their expressive personality and works of art, we are blending the parallels between the fashion and automotive industries like never before,” said Susan Lampinen, Ford group chief designer, color and materials, in a prepared statement. “The Mustang Unleashed collection celebrates the passion and freedom of Mustang, and its inspiration to pop culture during the last 50 years.”
Sui, a native of the Motor City, says the fact that the Mustang has always remained true to what it represents is what makes it a unique inspiration for fashion.
“Fashion is ever evolving, and is a historical representation of what is going on in the world,” she said. “As a designer, I am constantly inspired by everything around me, but it is important for me to remain true to my aesthetic and identity. Mustang has accomplished the same.”
The line will consists of 15 unique shirts inspired by the iconic Ford pony car that will be available this fall.
