So you’ve bought a new crate engine for your project, and you’ve read every forum out there on how to properly complete a break-in procedure, but each person has their own story and experience. From what oil to use first, to the amount of RPM during the first few hundred miles, you have been probably overloaded with information. Well, Summit Racing is here to save you some headache. In the video below, they cover everything from oil, to fuel, to coolant, all to ensure you get the very best from your new engine.

You might already be familiar with engines, but there’s a lot that can vary depending on application. This means you cant just throw it together and call it a day. Even basic items like coolant are just as important as oil in a new engine, and these specific instructions from Summit will be relevant to your car (which means you ought to break that habit of throwing out instructions!). Just remember, it’s your baby, so treat it nice in the beginning and it’ll reward you with years of faithful service down the road.
