Bring New Life Into Old Mustang Seats

Short of buying new seats for your Mustang, there’s not much that you can do to clean up the interior of an older ride. You can always try to fix a cracked dashboard, but you don’t always see that when you first open the door. What you do see are your seats, and sometimes they can become dingy, stained, or faded. You can get them re-upholstered, but that’s a bit costly. The other option, re-dying your seats, is easy and cost effective.

Using a fabric and upholstery dye from Dupli-Color, in the vid below, the guys over at Two Minute Tech make easy work of this Fox Body seat that’s seen better days. The black fabric has aged with a bit of gray, and bringing it back to life only takes a can of dye and careful masking of the vinyl side surfaces. To dress the seat up even further, the same Dupli-Color spray is used to give the vinyl some new flair, but this time in red. This project had great results with only two cans of paint, and some tape. Can’t beat that!
