Should You Buy a Roush Mustang?
How does 650 horsepower and a 3-year warranty sound for a 2015 Ford Mustang? Pretty good right? That’s exactly what Roush wants you to believe, although I’m not so sure.
Recently, Roush debuted its own 2015 Roush Mustang. A Stage 3 to be exact. It has a 650 horsepower, 5.0L Coyote that’s been supercharged, along with a few other bolt ons and aero bits too. And it looks pretty mean with the more aggressive body kit.
However, here’s the rub. On top of the 40-or-so-thousand dollars you’re going to be spending on a regular Mustang GT, Roush wants to tack on another $21,995 to the sticker for their Stage 3 package. Putting the grand total in the $60,000-plus range.
Sorry, but all that money just doesn’t seem to add up to the performance you’re gaining. Look at it this way, you can either have a Roush Mustang now, or wait a few months and get a Shelby GT350 directly from the factory with more go-faster bits for $10,000 cheaper. I don’t know about you, but I’d definitely have a hard time making a case for the Roush.
