Drag Racing a Mustang Police Car, ‘Cuz ‘Merica

It doesn’t get any more patriotic than a Star Spangled Mustang police race car with the red, white, and blue painted on a massive hood scoop. The 4th of July may be a ways off, but this badass Mustang makes it possible to celebrate our independence with every run down the strip.

Normally seeing the red and blue lights means you’re in trouble, but this time it actually means… Wait, technically you’re still in trouble, because this Mustang police racer can run high 9s and exceed 130 mph down the drag way, and its driver is known for flicking the siren on to celebrate a victory. Ouch.

The police livery is there to honor a fallen hero police officer, and it also helps to collect donations and raise money for good causes. Not much is known about the inner workings of the Mustang, besides the fact that it runs a naturally aspirated, small block Ford motor.

If only they could play the Cops theme song while the race is taking place, that’d be excellent!
