This certainly adds credence to the saying that “good things come in pairs”.

I mean, news of one new higher-performance Mustang variant in the works is enough to break out the bubbly. But news of two new models revving up is the kind of stuff that could call for a Vegas trip. And we’re talking about two historic variants: the Mach 1 Mustang and the Shelby GT500!

According to Mustang News, both cars could debut as early as the end of next year. Of course, the Shelby GT500 is the model that most here will be eagerly anticipating. Although, the price tag on the rumored 700-horsepower GT500 is likely to be through the roof, which will likely make the Mach 1 a more reasonable pick up if opting for a higher-performance model.

Rumor has it that the Mach 1 will be equipped with the 5.0-liter V8, but will crank out a little more power than the Mustang GT due to a higher flow exhaust and the potential return of the shaker hood.

So, who’s excited?
