Grudge Race: Fox Bodies Battle for Cold, Hard Cash
Grudge racing is some of the best 1/4 mile action to watch, and to be involved with. With $1,000 on the line at Cecil County Dragway, these two Fox Bodies battle it out for supremacy on the list. List racing has been around for a while, but has re-spawned a bit due to the popularity of the show Street Outlaws. The format is as simple as it gets: no times, just a win light.
Pre-race tension starts with cash handed over. #5 on the list, Ken Lowe in his GT, and #4, defender Donta Garrett in his four-eye. The two share a few words before the big race. A sly silence by Ken is shown as he says “no words,” where as “let’s make it fun” is Donta’s hope.
Donta has the right lane, Ken on the left. They stage. Pro-tree setup on this run so as soon as the stage is set, they launch, with Donta putting the power down not quite as cleanly as Ken. What’s the end result? You’ll just have to hit play to see.
