For Sale: Ultra-Rare Shelby GT500E Super Snake

By -

If you’re looking for a rare, 1 of 43 GT500E Super Snake, look no further!

Built in the early 2000s, at the height of the Shelby continuation craze, this rare, super-low-mileage, mega-powered Eleanor-clone GT500e is raring and ready to be added to your collection.

With a ground-pounding 468-CI, all-aluminum, big block Ford, a Vortech supercharger, and FAST XFI fuel injection, this Shelby packs a ton of power to match those fiery red good looks. It’s also got a dyno-proven 725 horsepower pumping through a row-your-own Tremec 5-speed. Yeah, this Mustang lives up to its namesake GT500, and probably provides an even wilder ride.

This modern-era Shelby has traveled only 311 miles since it rolled out of the Unique Performance and Revved Automotive Concepts workshops. And you can tell that it has led the pampered life of a collector car. Sure it’s priced at an astonishing $289,900. But we’re not sure you could really build something like this without investing at least that much. According to documents that come with the car, the initial build cost was $171,000. And it was later treated to over $100,000 in additional work.

This Ford’s gorgeous red exterior does little to hide all that power lurking underneath. The huge bulge in the hood and the raucous side-exit exhaust don’t help, either. It’s unlikely you’d be able to talk yourself out of a ticket while driving this totem of all-American horsepower.

With a trick drivetrain and trick suspension, this Shelby would be at home equally on the street, at the track, or in your climate-controlled collection. Having never really been driven, this decade-old Shelby Mustang is likely the best example on the market today. If you’re looking for a car that will make your muscle car friends stand up and take notice, this is the one.
