Hennessey Just Built a 208 MPH Mustang

Hennessey is already one of the greatest names in GM and Mopar modifications, but their talents have rarely been used on Mustangs. That is rapidly changing however as the new HPE750 Supercharged Mustang will rewrite the rule books on what buyers expect from tuned ‘Stangs.

With 774 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque, this monster will eat the ¼ mile in less than 11 seconds with a trap speed of 133 mph. Zero to 60 mph is dispatched in just 3.4 seconds. All of that pales in comparison to the car’s top speed though. As you can see in the vid below, at a recent testing event in Texas, for a taping of Jay Leno’s Garage, the team took this raging pony all the way up to a top speed of 207.9 mph.

I don’t know just how slippery the standard 2015 Mustang’s body shape is, but Hennessey did surprisingly little aero work. The car features a front splitter, side sills, and small lip spoiler, all crafted from carbon fiber. And that is it. Aside from the new lightweight wheels and a bit of badging, the exterior of this car is stock. Looks like with enough horsepower, determination and a long enough stretch of road, anything is possible.
