Highly Coveted 1970 Mustang Boss 429 Heads to Auction
Live in the Houston, Texas area? If so, you’re in luck, because come April 16, you’ll be able to experience this “Grabber Green” beauty up close when the Mecum Auto Auction circus rolls into town.
This green goddess is a 1970 Boss 429 Ford Mustang, and in any other color she’d be a highly coveted and collectible muscle car. But in this factory “Grabber Green,” the car achieves mega-collectible status that is bound to go for big, big bucks.
Only 50 “Grabber Green” 429 Mustangs were produced back in the day. And as you may already know, they’ve got the horsepower to match the showy looks. The 429 V8 engine has a reputation for sand bagging, as its factory rating of 375 horsepower translated to over 500 on most dyno tests.
This particular example was restored in 2010, and is believed to be mostly all original inside and out. Based on previously sold examples, she could fetch in excess of $300,000 bucks.
So you better bring your wallet!
