Mustang Concepts for 2015 Redesign

The 2015 Mustang reveal is getting closer and there's been a lot of hype from the Mustang community about the new model! J. Mays, Ford's Creative Chief Officer, previously said the new gen model will be less retro and way more modern as to move the Mustang name forward. That has people creating their own renderings of what they think it will look like.

What we do know about the 2015 Mustang so far? Well, it will be smaller, lighter, feature independent rear suspension, and will be offered globally. An Ecoboost has been everything but confirmed.

Check out the Mustang concept that Popular Hot Rodding magazine drew up! These renderings are what they believe the new Mustang model will look like. In my opinion, the red drawing looks more like a squished Bugatti than a Ford Mustang, and definitely very futuristic. Also, the silver concept has more of a Mustang feel with the front and rear end and I can dig it. Definitely cool drawings and concepts, but is this where the new Mustang could be headed?

Andrew Tyler (Sat, 25 Feb 2012 12:11:43 -0800): The silver rendering looks like it has a Camaro ass end. I like a lot of the body style of the Camaro, but the rear portion of the body ruins it for me. Too boxy and feels like they cut the end of the car off.
Chester H. Tyler (Sat, 25 Feb 2012 12:13:34 -0800): kinda like a lot of other rear ends I've seen LOL
Jim 'Trip' Heath (Tue, 06 Mar 2012 12:41:49 -0800): we can only hope that the real thing looks as good as the big silver drawing ...
Best Mustang Parts (Tue, 06 Mar 2012 12:43:50 -0800): Please don't make it resemble the Camaro in any way - please.
Giovanni Salinas (Tue, 06 Mar 2012 12:48:32 -0800): the red one kinda looks like a camaro lets not aim for that now.
Carlos Valentin (Tue, 06 Mar 2012 12:58:13 -0800): the one in the middle sorta looks like the camaro not liking it but the other two...bad ass.
(Tue, 06 Mar 2012 14:08:31 -0800): yeah, but it STILL has an antiquated piston engine......BFD!
Rick Maggs (Tue, 06 Mar 2012 15:29:05 -0800): The car needs to have the whole side profile lowered, from front lights through door and than about mid way through the rear wheel well let it sweep up into the spoiler keeping the exaggerated lines. This would add more down force on the rear end and allow for more visibility from cabin with more glass. I would also leave the front wheel well showing the raised profile and thus keep the front profile in tact. this would also exaggerate the hood scoop and allow more down force. I agree with the other comments to keep the mustang lean and mean. Don't make it like the Camero "box" that you can't see out of.
Jesus John (Tue, 06 Mar 2012 16:51:26 -0800): if they went with these type of models then it would make me very happy that I bought my 2012 model.
Troy Elbert (Tue, 06 Mar 2012 18:16:58 -0800): Red one is too Camaro-ish. Gotta keep the "brows" over the headlights! Raise the sport roof a little and give it some depth.
Ron Beau Phillips (Tue, 06 Mar 2012 18:24:10 -0800): To meet euro pedestrian crash standards, it'll have to lose the blunt nose, so I'm expecting more of a wedge shape. I expect they'll keep the long front/short read look, and otherwise it'll look like an updated Ford Probe (which would not be a bad thing). The interior I expect to be closer to the current Taurus, which would be a very good thing. The real limitation is that they have to offer a V8, so they need room to fit the amazing Coyote motor in there, and that is the limit on packaging.
Jerry McFee (Tue, 06 Mar 2012 19:52:09 -0800): Boooo! It's all about the Bowtie!
Tomasz Smok (Wed, 07 Mar 2012 04:44:27 -0800): They done enough retro styling based on the 60s mustang, maybe they should do one based on the Foxbody now!
George Fitzpatrick (Wed, 07 Mar 2012 05:33:22 -0800): IT the center one reminds me of the Mustang II which by its sales record was not to hot.
(Wed, 07 Mar 2012 06:32:21 -0800): I like the first one. Stay with the traditional muscle car look. The other ones are too sports car-ish.
Matt Loson (Wed, 07 Mar 2012 09:47:11 -0800): I like the first one, keeps some of the retro while definitely throwing in some futuristic styling too. Windows would probably suffer the Camaro problem though.
(Wed, 07 Mar 2012 11:04:37 -0800): headlights on red one looks like Brand X (don't do it) Not crazy about the belt line either. The silver version is WAY better and has the traditional Mustang cues I expect to see in Ford's Mustang.
Jacob Sejat (Wed, 07 Mar 2012 11:30:38 -0800): The red one is a no go for sure like everyone else said it looks to much like the camaro. the one on the left is, not to bad, raise the roof a bit, put a nice spoiler on it, and it has to have the old school 5 spoke rims on it. if you are going to make it modern run the exhaust out the sides right in front of the rear tire wells. the grill needs to have lights in it and when you turn the lights on all 4 front light need to work to make it look modern or kind of futuristic if you want to call it that. if you were to add those things to it, it would be a real sweet pony and sell real well.
Matthew Galloway (Wed, 28 Mar 2012 08:58:14 -0700): It will be interesting to see how Ford handles the increased power available to the mustang line. 650 hp for the '13 cobra is a challenge from a traction standpoint. It would be beneficial to move to an all-wheel-drive configuration to ge the power to the road effectively.
Chance De Barge (Mon, 08 Oct 2012 19:52:12 -0700): I just bought a 2013gt thank god cause y'all will mess with a good thing and turn it to crap!! If I wanted some ugly looking piece of crap dodge and chevy make two great options!!!
Kristin Bomar (Mon, 08 Oct 2012 19:54:28 -0700): I kinda like that! lol
Chance De Barge (Mon, 08 Oct 2012 19:59:21 -0700): OMG it's terrible!!! Looks too much like Camaro and Challenger
