Mustang Depreciation Lowest of Any Vehicle in U.K.

How’s this for another major win for the S550 Ford Mustang in Europe?

Not only is the Mustang one of the most popular cars in the U.K., but it also is the vehicle with the lowest value depreciation there as well. So, I guess you could say that all the excitement over the Mustang overseas has a pretty long shelf life.

Cap Hpi, an industry residual-values analyst, told Wards Auto that the Mustang holds onto 99.5% of its new-ticket price value, up to nearly one year after its purchase.

That’s pretty commendable, especially considering that the second and third lowest depreciated valued vehicles are the Porsche Cayman, which retains 96.5% of its new-vehicle price, and the Lotus Elise at 93.4%.

Clive Wilson, editor at Cap Hpi’s Black Book, best sums up the results like this: “Depreciation is often the hidden cost of motoring. But for anyone looking for a good value sports car, the Ford Mustang provides a savvy new and used purchase.”

You certainly won’t get any argument from us.
