Mustang Driver Pulls Biggest Save Ever?

Just as This Mustang Driver Thought His Day at the Drag Strip Was Going Pretty Smoothly, His Car Decided to Remind Him of Who’s Really in Charge

There’s a reason why they call them “accidents.” No one ever leaves their home expecting to crash, right? Although the risk is higher on a race track, most think crashing is still highly unlikely.

The driver of this Mustang knows exactly what I’m referring to. Just as he thought his day at the drag strip was going pretty smoothly, his Mustang decided to remind him of who’s really in charge.

The High Tech Corvette video below takes us to Houston, Texas, where the Dig Night recently took place. From the looks of it, these high-speed runs took place on a temporary drag strip. Additionally, such venues can typically add to the danger factor, as the surfaces, facilities, and required safety personnel are often missing. As a result, when something goes wrong, it goes really wrong.

The Mustang seen here seems to be well-prepped for drag racing, or at least its massive rear tires, spoiler, and parachute indicate as much. Furthermore, the driver can be seen warming up the tires properly, which leads us to believe it’s also not his first rodeo. As soon as he takes off in flamboyant fashion, though, things literally go sideways! The rear end of the Mustang steps out of line, and the driver goes for a ride.

What follows is the closest save I’ve seen recently. The rear end swings to the right, to the left, to the right, and to the left again. After an epic save from a huge crash, the Mustang comes to a stop by lightly kissing the concrete barrier.

What do you think, biggest save ever?
