One of the Nicest 1965 Shelby G.T. 350s on the Planet

There’s a reason we’ve given Kevin Oeste the nickname Professor Muscle-Car. As you can see in the Muscle Car of the Week video below, the wise host knows his stuff with textbook accuracy.

In this installment, Professor Muscle-Car takes a nice long look at the original Ford go-fast pony car, the 1965 Shelby G.T. 350. But this isn’t just any G.T. 350 (if there is such a thing), this one — from the Brothers Collection — is “one of the nicest G.T. 350s on the planet,” says Oeste. And while that claim may sound like hyperbole, when the professor says it, we listen.

Of course, they only made 562 of these cars new. And they made them for racing. “These we’re race cars, so a lot of them got raced. They got wrecked. They got repaired. And then when the value started going up, they we’re getting restored.”

But not all restoration parts are equal. And this 100% correct beauty proudly sports a Gold Level Thoroughbred restoration and a Certificate of Authenticity. “There’s probably less than ten of these that have been judged with both of those certifications, and this is one of them,” says Oeste.

Yet even with parts that are 50-years-old (even the tires!), the car still looks and runs like new. Now that’s a first rate restoration, and certainly Muscle Car of the Week material.
