Shelby American Unleashes Limited-Edition 289 FIA
With all the buzz over the 2015 Mustang, we tend to forget that the Ford nameplate isn’t the only car beloved by Mustang fans celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year.
The iconic Shelby Cobra, which has been as much a part of Mustang history as the pony itself over the years, is also celebrating five decades of road performance with the 289 FIA. And to commemorate the milestone, Shelby American is offering 50 new limited-edition models of the Shelby 289 FIA.
Introduced in 1964, the FIA version of the small block Cobra first established its mark by in American culture by dominating its class in racing during the 60s’ against marques the likes of Corvette, Jaguar and Aston Martin.
The new 289 FIA Cobra models enable car enthusiasts to own a piece of that history in a modern package.
Each Shelby FIA built features Viking Blue exterior paint with Arctic white stripes and roundels, premium black interior and special billet anniversary badges. The limited-edition Cobra is also available with a number of options.
Pricing is $94,995 for the fiberglass model and $159,995 for the aluminum model.
