Stolen ’66 Mustang Returns Home Stripped

Stripped Mustang

If there’s one thing that gets my blood boiling, it’s people who prey on other people’s passion for collecting cars.

That’s about the only way to describe an incident involving a 1966 Mustang that was stolen from a family garage in North Carolina, and then stripped of practically everything except for the engine, as highlighted in a WLOS report.

Fred Sult, who bought the ’66 Mustang 12-years ago, had actually given the car to his five-year-old grandson, Gavin, before it was taken from their family garage. Now, that it’s been returned, the Sults are trying to piece the family heirloom back together again.

“It’s absolutely stripped. Every nut, every bolt,” Sult said. “It wasn’t exciting finding the car. I almost threw up, but at least it’s there. It’s not cut up. It’s not burnt. But there is not one single part of that car that they didn’t take.”

Even worse, the culprits responsible for stealing the family Mustang are still at large.
