Terminator Mustang Cobra Learns a Few Lessons from an SRT Viper

Cobra Mustang

I’d like to chalk this one up to poor driving but, unfortunately, it seems as if there’s a lot more at play here.

Then again, I’d be inclined to think that an E85-fueled, 684-rwhp 2003 Terminator Mustang Cobra that’s undergone some weight reduction would fare better against a “DriverMod” SRT Viper TA.

However, as shown in the video below, the street showdown wasn’t even close. If you ask me, the Cobra driver seemed more concerned about getting video footage of the Viper than beating the car.

That’s not to say that a more focused diver would have necessarily changed anything. Still, it does raise this question: Should we put a whole lot of weight in the race?

Mods on the Cobra included a VMP supercharger upgrade, full bolt-ons, and that weight reduction I mentioned. The Viper’s modifications included an intake, headers, a full exhaust, and a tune.
