Jim Inglese, a name who is legendary for building Weber carburetion systems, has announced that his company will be offering Independent Runner Weber and EFI induction units for the Coyote 5.0-liter engine. Each eight-stack system is custom-built and calibrated for each engine, with a wide variety of plating and other finishes available.

Currently the FAST software used with the intake runners doesn't allow for variable valve timing, but Inglese tells us that power output remains relatively the same as stock with more to be had. "There is still a lot of work to be done with the adjustable cam timing. More power is out there," he told us. "Right now, the cams have to be locked and power is still excellent."

Retail pricing for a complete Weber system is listed at $4,600. EFI units begin at the same price, minus the ECU. For more details visit www.jiminglese.com.

Shelby first announced a widebody kit for the 2005-2009 Mustang back in December, and a similar package for the 2010+ Mustang a month later at the Detroit Auto Show in the form of an 850 horsepower GT500 Super Snake. At the time we asked company representatives if the widebody kit would be available for the Shelby 1000, and the answer was a resounding yes. In fact, they told us that one was already under production.

Fast forward a few months and the first production widebody Shelby 1000 is making its debut at the Fabulous Fords show at Knott's Berry Farm in Southern California. The car was scheduled to be delivered to its lucky customer later that day, who would drive it home from the show.

Out of any Mustang in the Shelby lineup the 1000 could use the widebody package the most, with the 345/35/R20 tires helping to put the massive amounts of horsepower from the supercharged V8. This particular model was a 950 horsepower "street" version, as the S/C model isn't street legal on California roads.

Want to see the Shelby 1000 Widebody in more detail? Check out our live photos from the show in the gallery below.

There's no denying that cars are special. No matter how many you end up owning, you never forget the first that was officially "yours." Now, that might be a particularly fond memory if you drove something like a Corolla, but If it's something like a mustang... You can bet that those years are going to be unforgettable.

Such was the case for one Rick Lookebil. The first car he bought was a 1972 Mustang MACH 1 and it was a car that he loved. Eventually, he had to get rid of it, but it wasn't something that he really wanted to do. Most people can identify with getting rid of something you really wanted to keep. That was 24 years ago.

You might imagine seeing your old car come back to out of the blue as a bit of a shock. That's an understatement. It's not often you get to see such a pure expression of happiness on the internet or anywhere else for that matter. Check out the dad's reaction below.

So what makes the Aluminator engines so special? Ford Racing wants to tell that story, and has recently published a video documenting the build of an Aluminator crate engine from start to finish at the Performance Assembly Solutions plant in Livonia, MI. The video takes you through the four stages of the build - teardown and prep, gauging, assembly, and the end of line test - and goes into detail about the various processes and parts used to build the engine.

It's really easy to get bogged down in numbers and statistics when talking about custom cars. They're always more powerful, more grippy, more of everything really. While it's important to know exactly how much more ass your car will kick after being tuned, a video is a much better way to get an idea of the attitude a custom car will carry. It's really the next best thing to a test drive.

Roush dropped this highlight reel of their stage 3 Mustang in our inboxes this morning, and it I gotta admit: the car definitely seems entertaining. Also, there are a lot of shot of the mustang tooling around beneath an American flag. It's hard to be mad at that. It's also hard to be mad at a supercharged Mustang that makes over 560hp. I'd even say it manages to look good doing it.

There really isn't any shortage of options when it comes to Mustang tuners, but the video below should give you a little taste of what Roush has to offer. Check it out!

At the LA Auto Show Back in November Saleen announced that they would be building a 351 Mustang, with the company releasing a rendering of the proposed car. Since then the company has been relatively quiet about the project, and we were wondering if the 351 Mustang was still on. Saleen answered that question today, as they unveiled the first 351 Mustang prototype at the Fabulous Fords show at Knott's Berry Farm in Southern California.

Although the initial 351 Mustang prototype is evidence that a production version is near, Saleen is still keeping mum on details about the car including the technical specifications of the engine. We inquired about the base for the powerplant, but were told that more specific information on the engine will be released at a later date. The only information given is that the supercharged V8 produces 700 horsepower.

The rest of the Saleen 351 Supercharged Mustang is relatively similar to the company's other offerings including the body kit, wheels and interior appointments. However, the paint color, Orange County Orange, was specially developed for the car by Saleen.

Hopefully we'll have more details about the 2014 Saleen 351 Supercarged Mustang soon, particularly specifics on the powertrain, but until then check out our photos of the car's debut in the gallery below.

In building what should be hailed as "The Boss of all Bosses," custom car guru Bodie Stroud has created one truly unique 1969 Boss Mustang. Using an original 777 HP, all-aluminum 494 c.i. Mario Andretti race motor, Bodie set out to create of one of the sickest Mustangs of all time - a pure and one-of-a-kind American muscle car.

Meet "The Real Thing" and its 777HP '69 Motor

You won't find another custom Boss 302 Mustang like the one Bodie and his crew have put together. Originally debuted at SEMA 2010, this unique Boss has one of only 10 motors built for Mario Andretti's 1969 Can-Am race car. The 494 cubic inch, 8.0L monster V8 not only packs a lethal punch performance wise, but as you can hear in the video, redefines what exhaust note a heavenly sounding muscle car should make. Seriously, if the looks do not already have you in awe, the sound coming from the perfectly polished exhaust pipes certainly will. The all-aluminum motor is on a strict diet, weighing in at a mere 475 lbs while the car sits on a fully custom ladder chassis. The interior has been outfitted with gauges and other interior styling cues directly from the 2011 Mustang GT.

The cherry on top came when Mario Andretti himself signed the engine block at SEMA, solidifying this car's place in American muscle car history.

L&M Engines out of Hatboro, PA teamed up with Lund Racing on this build and put down an impressive 9.42 @ 150 MPH 1/4 mile run the weekend before tearing up the Texas Mile. While nothing really stood out cosmetically, we did happen to notice the BOSS intake manifold and gleaming twins under the hood. Outside of the racing stickers, nothing would really indicate this Mustang is the monster it is until whoever is driving stabs the go pedal and this thing disappears at the blink of an eye. Can you say sleeper?

A true movie star will make its way down Mecum's signature red carpet this May in Indianapolis. Known by most simply as "Eleanor," the modified 1967 Ford Mustang from Touchstone Pictures' "Gone in 60 Seconds" will cross the block as Lot S135 at Dana Mecum's 26th Original Spring Classic auction this May 14-19. This collector car icon piloted in the movie by retired master car thief Memphis Raines, played by Nicholas Cage, is the real McCoy. Several cars were built to handle various duties in the filming of "Gone," but this is serial number 7R02C179710, the "Hero" car driven by Cage during filming and the model used in movie close-ups, posters and promotional materials.

Built by Cinema Vehicle Services with the help of master designer Chip Foose, the body pieces of Eleanor were mocked up on a Mustang using clay and wood. Molds were then made to produce a new fiberglass front end filled with high-powered PIAA driving lights, new fender flares, side skirts and scoops, hood and trunk lid. To give the car big-screen performance, it was treated to a 351/400 HP Ford crate engine, which shares room with a front subframe body brace by Total Control Products, LLC. This progenitor of the Eleanor revolution is relatively untouched inside with the exception of an Autometer Sport Comp Monster tach, fire extinguisher, Go-Baby-Go shift knob button for Line Lock and a switch for activating a nitrous injection system.

"Eleanor has become one of the most widely recognized movie star muscle cars in the world, so when the decision was made to offer the 'Gone in 60 Seconds' Hero car for sale, Mecum's Spring Classic auction in Indianapolis seemed like the perfect venue," commented Ray Claridge, owner of Cinema Vehicle Services. Set to be offered directly from the builder on Saturday, May 18 at the original, best and largest muscle car auction, this is truly the car that started it all.

Thirty-two hours of the Indianapolis auction will be broadcast live on Discovery's Velocity Network with the entire auction streaming live on Mecum's website at www.mecum.com. Mecum's Indy auction is open to buyers, sellers and spectators. Gates open at 8 a.m. each day and general admission can be purchased at the door for $20 per person; children 12 and younger will be admitted at no cost. For more information on the auction or to register as a bidder, visit www.mecum.com or call (262) 275-5050.

Last year Shelby made a huge splash at the New York Auto Show, introducing its most powerful Mustang yet, the Shelby 1000. Fast forward one year and the company is back again in the Big Apple, this time with an updated version of the car using the 2013 Shelby GT500 as a base.
Last year Shelby made a huge splash at the New York Auto Show, introducing its most powerful Mustang yet, the Shelby 1000. Fast forward one year and the company is back again in the Big Apple, this time with an updated version of the car using the 2013 Shelby GT500 as a base. With the larger displacement 5.8-liter engine, the new 1000 packs even more of a punch and produces up to 1,200 horsepower on pump gas in S/C trim.

As expected, Shelby has modified nearly all of the mechanicals of the GT500 to handle the extra horsepower, from the drivetrain to the suspension to the brakes. The internals of the 5.8-liter V8 have been heavily fortified with upgraded pistons and connecting rods, and new camshafts and ported cylinder heads help keep the air flowing from the Whipple 4.0-liter supercharger. Other standard features include Borla headers, a performance cooling package, aluminum driveshaft, billet aluminum watts-link and more.

Like the 2012 model, the 2013 Shelby 1000 will be produced in limited numbers - just 100 are scheduled for production. Pricing starts at $154,995, not including the base GT500.

Article courtesy of MustangsDaily.com, your source for all the latest Ford Mustang news and articles.

You can be sure that the times are changing and with 50 solid years of Mustang production under Ford's belt, a brand new logo has been presented to represent this massive milestone. Supposedly, an internal design duel was held before selecting the 50th anniversary, 2015 Mustang logo.

This new logo will soon be spotted on apparel everywhere such as t-shirts, watches, die-cast models, video games, you name it. You can fully expect to see this logo everywhere in the very near future as fifty companies already hold the license to distribute products featuring the all-new logo.

Ford designer Michael Thompson designed the winning logo, sporting the iconic running pony silhouette while "50 Years" sits below it. This logo is set to appear in either black or white, depending on the application.

With the 50th anniversary mark looming, strong rumors and even spy photos of the 2015 S550 Mustang have surfaced, giving everyone a good idea of what to expect with the whole '15 model year redesign. While some people are already lining up to hate it, others are trying to accept the fact that it is time for the Mustang to switch platforms and move on. Ford even seems set on ditching the live rear axle for 2015 in favor of an independent rear suspension, as indicated by the spy shots.

When Might We See the 2015 S550 Mustang?

Well, Ford is planning a year long party for the kickoff of the 2015 Mustang that is set to begin at this year's New York Auto Show. Many rumors have been swirling around the net that the 2014 NY International Auto Show is where we'll get our first glimpse of the finalized 2015 redesign we're all eagerly waiting to see. While it's no guarantee, expect at least some form of insight from Ford at that event this year, especially considering the number of high profile debuts being made at the show.
