Originally they told me 1 to 2 weeks but I guess something happened with some parts and it ended up taking 4 and a half weeks. Stay on them though, I would call them every couple of days to find out what the status was. The communication between Sales and Buildup didn't seem that great because they could never give me a firm date.
Had my first problem with the SC last night. Check engine light came on and there is no way to find out what the trouble codes are with the tuner that KB sends you. I ended up using my Diablo from my C&L kit to find out what was going on. I used the Diablo in "Diagnostic Mode" and it not only tells you the codes and a few other things, but it also tells you what they mean. I had three trouble codes:
P0308 - Cylinder 8 Misfire Detected
P0316 - Misfire Detected on Startup (First 1000 Revolutions)
P1000 - Systems Readiness Test Not Complete
I had heard a couple of "Pops" during WOT but with this all being new, I didn't know if it was normal or not. NOT
I believe that the problem is fixed and it wasn't difficult.
I did the obvious and checked everything over thoroughly again, vacuum lines, connections, etc. Check Engine Light still came back. Started reading over all the literature again to see if I missed anything. No help. The Manual recommends a cooler spark plug (will be ordering those from Fred on Monday) but leaves it at that. I had called KB also to confirm what I was supposed to do (this was when I got the number for Evolution Performance) and was told that the system will work with the stock plugs. (I may have spaced any other information after that). There is nothing else about spark plugs in the install manual. I cruised the FAQ on the KB website and found a post about going to the cooler plug but it also said that if you don't have them, you need to re-gap your plugs from .050 to .035. Disconnected the battery and spent about an hour setting the plugs. The Check Engine Light has not came back since and the engine sounds a lot smoother. I think that this procedure should have been included in the Install Manual because this is a pretty important step and it is currently no where to be found.
