To answer a few of your questions. Diesel engines can handle huge amounts of boost. Since these are heavy duty vehicles to begin with they require little in the way of mods. Usually an electronic boost controler, larger intercooler and exhaust. Many people add a shot of nitrous and propane to the mix. I've seen diesel trucks run low 12's. Banks is a well known tuner of diesel trucks. http://www.bankspower.com/ Maybe not too well known since some of you guys don't know who they are. Hope this helps.
