what is the stock hp of a 97 SVT Cobra, to the wheels.

'97 cobras are rated at 305 at the flywheel... so about 250-260 hp at the rear wheels...

He is right, 305 hp at 5800 rpm and 300 ft lbs of tq at 4800 rpm with a max engine speed of 6800 rpm. 305X16%=48.8 which leaves your real wheel horses at about 256 hp.

He also had a borla exhaust, so he was probubly at 275. I just thought that it would be more.

Isn't '97 the year that Ford had to recall the Cobras b/c they lied about the hp numbers?

yeap it sure was. And if you dont think those numbers sound right you aught to see these numbers. The '94 cobra come with 215 hp at 4200 rpm and 285 ft lbs of TQ at 3400 rpm! Thats crazy because I have a friend with one and it feels like it could pull the titantic off the ocean floor. I need to drive a 03 Cobra now I guess. LOL

I just looked this up, you can expect from 245-255rwhp from a 1997 Cobra.

About the 1994, according to said dyno site, all these mods on a '94 Cobra, "e-303 cam - trickflo twisted wedge heads 2.02/1.60 valves - 1.6:1 rockers - ford gt-40 lower intake - kenne bell blowzilla 2.2l blower w/8psi pully - kenne bell switch chip - 77mm maf - 75mm throttle body - msd 6btm - 36lb injectors - 255lph fuel pump - mac cold air induction - mac shorty headers - mac onroad h-pipe - mac catback exhaust - dss 306 pro bullit engine - " produced 292rwhp.

I would say they aren't that stout outta the factory.

Dang LT, that's only 10 more than my auto is putting to the ground. What is problem with them?

I don't know man. Cobra's really weren't all that impressive til '03. I'm sure 100th would know a lil more about this. He had a '96 and was pushing some pretty impressive hp.
