The 4.10s wouldn't effect it, so nothing to worry about there. Does it have the factory shifter? I know my Steeda Tri-ax is really notchy (and I like it). If you're hearing an actual clunk sound, that's just because the transmission is sloppy and noisy [&:] No, I don't like my 3650 [8D]

The 1-2 synchro does seem to be a little weak in general, if 2-3 goes in a lot easier at the RPM range that you're having a problem at for 1-2... then see if a dealership near you will take care of the TSB... try to do the shift in the same amount of time of course.

You may have difficulty finding a dealership to do it though... one of the ones near here seems to think TSBs are just heads-up for the dealership only and wondered how I got my hands on the information when I went to them with 3 TSB's I needed taken care of. They told me that they do not fix them for free, even if you are under warranty. So, if your luck is as bad as mine, you'll have a hard time finding a dealership to do it... You may just have to deal with it or rebuild it yourself.
Yeah, I have a tri-ax. I heard you can take the car to a dealer and they can run an Oasis on the car to see if there are any open TSB's. My good friend's dad owns a Ford dealership, so hopefully I can get it taken care of pretty easily.
