Roll Cage for the New Mustang
Hello Everybody,
I am new to this board. I have an 05 Mustang. I was just wondering if anybody has installed a roll bar or cage in the newer Mustang yet. I am getting one in the next couple days and would like to see if anybody has gotten one, from what company, etc? Right now, I am looking at an S&W Racecars cage. Any input?

There have been some pictures posted of roll bars, so far the only ones I've seen were custom installations (other than the CDC light bar which is cosmetic). I've seen a 4 point and I think the other was a 5 point. Are you going for looks or do you need one for racing?

Here are some pics of my rollbar in my 2006 vert.
It is a custom made 6 point rollbar constructed of chrome moly 1.75" tubing and fully mig welded. The rollbars that are pre-made are usually made of mild steel. You can buy premade 4 and 8 point rollbars. They are not NHRA/IHRA legal. They are mostly SCCA style bars. If you are going to race a convertible you definately need one of these NHRA style rollbars.
Lightbars are worthless and do not offer any structural support and are not even close to NHRA requirements.
Rollbars give your car some real *****! I have shown this car and receive overwhelming comments on the rollbar.
Take a look at the quality of the welds done on my rollbar, it is top quality work!

Wow Ghost Pony that is looking NICE! I had seen your custom roll bar before, but not with the finished seats. That is one premium ride! [sm=smiley20.gif] Now I bet the original poster just wants to know who did yours and if they are available to do his!

That is sweet!
Jegs sells a roll bar kit for our cars.

RE: Roll Cage for the New Mustang
I actually called S&W Racecars (www.swracecars.com) I talked with Steve @ ext 118. He told me they have a custom fit cage for the 05-06 Mustang. He also told me that they have an 07 gt500 in the shop now getting a cage. Its on the main page on the website. They make them in 8,10,12, or 14 point, out of steel or moly. NHRA, IHRA legal. (i am running NHRA). I am thinking about ordering this tommorow. I read some other websites and there were some good things written about S&W cages. I will let you guys know how it goes.
BTW, nothing against Jegs, but the cages they sell suck!! The one I got for my old fox body didn't fit well at all. It was a pain.
