4.6L stroker questions???
I wanted to rebuild my motor this winter and wanted a complete N/A car! I'm looking for a modest 400hp. I'm not looking for that complete drag car as this is my sunday car. I wanted to know if anyone has any knowledge of the 4.6L stroker kits and if there are any pro's/con's there might be. Does it give you more torque/hp??? I want to stick with my 2V motor to make life easy! I will do a PI swap and add a nice set of cams, but I need to know what I should do if the sstroker kit is the way to go or just over rated. I don't think I'll go froged crank since I won't be that high in the HP, but you tell me what I need to do with cost efficient in mind. Obviously if I had 10K to burn I wouldn't waste my time on this 2V POS. I'm looking to spend 3.5K. I will assemble the motor all myself because I have experience in that, but no knowledge on the stroker kits! Thank You for your help!

I've never heard of a 400hp N/A 2v. The 5.0 stroker kit may help you out, but getting 400hp N/A will cost alot more than 3.5k imo, because you are gonna need to raise compression big time therefore you will probably need forged internals. I'm certainly no expert, but I have been around the block so to speak. Why not buy a SC for 3.5-4k and be done with it? well except for a new clutch and tranny when the stock JUNK breaks. good luck though and I hope I'm wrong about getting 400hp from a NA 2v.

i think he need to rebuild it b/c its worn out, and you will need a little more the the strocker kit to make 400hp, if you endup getting one you will be lookind at more like 300hp or so

I got the 5.0 stroker kit on my 97. And had my heads ported and polished and had some comp cams installed. That's pretty much everything you said you wanted to do. I spent 10K on all of that. You may get out a little cheaper if you do some of the work yourself but it wont be anywhere in the 3.5k price range.....Sorry. I agree you should just supercharge it.

97 5.0L what are you getting for power with that combo, i just got a price quote from DSS racing on the 5.o modular motor for 9800.00, it has 9:1 comp. the cnc ported PI heads, stage 2 crower blower camshafts, is this a good deal? they told me i should be deep into the 11s with a 200 shot of juice. it is going into a 97 gt also, the reason for the low comp, is there will be a supercharger going on in about a year.
