Does the 351w already have a small base circle cam stock.why can you use the 5.0 ho cam and linked roller lifter but u cant use the 5.0 ho cam with the ho lifter in the 351w.Arnt both lifters the same length.Would i be able to use the 5.0 cam with the flat tappet lifters that is already in the motor..sorry these are such dumb questions ..im learnin.
Actually, this seems to be one of the most confusing aspects of the swap.

The stock ho lifters are taller than the linked lifters. If you install the ho lifters in a non roller 351w with a standard base circle cam, then the lifter will protrude out of its bore so far that oil will spray freely from the lifter.
Kinda tough to describe, but if you envision the location of the oil hole in the lifter getting above the top of the lifter bore, you can see how oil control would be a bit of an issue.

Hope that made sense,

Yes you can use the flat tappet cam that is there already, assuming the firning order is correct for your computer.
The flat tappet lifters don't have the same issue as the roller lifters.
