Heheh, well, that's just the thing. I used the ultimate search function - Google - and this is the thread that comes up! So, this is THE fuse box thread now, haha.

Not really. I was pulling on the cover for the fuses that are in the passenger compartment kick panel. I didn't want to pull too hard on the wrong thing. When I took my car in for its first oil change, I asked the service advisor how to remove the cover. He didn't know, but said he would check with a tech and show me how to do it when I picked up the car. The advisor did show me, and added that he thought it was an awful design if Ford expected the owner to be able to access those fuses.

What? Are we talking about the same thing? I think you are talking about the access panel and the discussion is about the covering behind the access panel.

Also, why would you pry it off with a flat head? There is a place at the bottom where you put your finger and the bottom comes loose. Then you just remove the two hooks at the top from the holes.

As to a passenger kicking it off, my guess is that you are not closing the access panel properly or it is defective. Place the two hooks into the holes at the top. Position the panel so that it is hanging down. Then, push the panel in with your fingers about an inch or so to the right and to the left of the finger slot at the bottom. You should hear two distinct clicks as the cover latches into place.

Thumbs up I appreciate your help regarding fuse box issue!

Loren S.

I came across this thread and saw your post with the picture of the fuse box. I really appreciate you going out of your way to help any future individual who might encounter this fuse box cover problem. I've wracked my brain dealing trying to get the f**king thing off, so your contribution with the fuse box picture is just plain awesome! Thanks again!

Best of luck to you,

Joe
