Default Brake Caliper Paint Kit - WheelSkin.com

Just was wondering if anyone has used this and what was their overall rating?

Did you remove the caliper to paint it?

From what I've seen on here people just mask off the areas not to be painted, and paint it.

I'd pull the trigger myself, but it just seems a hair expensive.

I would just used the Duplicolor Caliper paint kit... autozone or kragens for 20 bucks

Its really easy and if your careful you dont even have to mask anything...
put like 3 coats on it for a glossy look [sm=smiley20.gif]

Thanks, I'll have to look into that. However, everytime I step into an autozone or pepboys, I feel like a ricer, idk why

I used the g2 caliper paint on mine. Got the kit on ebay for around $30.00. Easy to do.

I got the same kit..worked great, no streaks, and I never masked anything off. It comes with a little brush, so you have total control over where you put the paint.

Thank you for the input!

Also, I was told that I should use high temperature paint? Although it doesn't look like the paint included it that certain kit isn't (correct me if I'm wrong).

Also, just was wondering some opinions on paiting them black? Would that look good on a Black Mustang? Looking for another color other than red (and blue), although I'm pretty sure I'll end up doing it in red.

The G2 Brake Caliper Paint Kit is hands down the best brake caliper paint kit on the market. In all honesty comparing the G2 kit to the Dupli-Color kit is like comparing apples to oranges... There is no comparison. Granted the Dupli-Color kit is a lil' cheaper but... You get what you pay for.

The G2 Kit is the only kit that:
[ul][*]Is a true dual component epoxy based paint system (Not a cheap single component ceramic based system.)[*]Is heat resistant to 980 degrees (The highest heat resistance on the market.)[*]Cures to an ultra-high gloss finish with no clear coat required (The Dupli-Color Kit has a matte finish.)[*]Has a Lifetime Warranty.[/ul]
The bottom line is this... You could save a few bucks today and paint your brake calipers with the Dupli-Color kit and end up having it cost you more in the long run because you have to re-paint them every 4-6 months because the finish fades, chips and peels... Or you could spend a few dollars more for the G2 kit and paint your calipers once! It's your call.

Thanks for the info Bill!

Now I just need some opinions on what color to do.

Thinking of doing them red, as that would look good one the outside, but I'm lining my interior with blue welts...

Any suggestions?

I painted mine black since my Mustang is Tungsten grey with black trim. But with black they really don't stand out at all. I'm thinking of changing them to red. Also goto http://www.xenonmods.com/newallcaliperdecals.htmfor decals to put on them.
