Although sounds great, I'm not interested in colored lightly... but however, is there white LEDs available to give me brighter lighting?

I can't get the bulbs out of the housings.. my fingers are too big to reach in and around the bulb to pull it out in the housing. I'm assuming there's no other way? I don't want to break the bulb..

The draw from these bulbs at 1% has to be, at most, the power equivalent of powering that little red blinking security light. It doesn't have me worried in the slightest.
I bought some LEDs from VLEDS.com after seeing this write-up. Mine are 13-SMT LEDs each bulb. They are 5k, or equivalent of 5000k HIDs, and appear pure white.

Anyways... mine do the same thing. Both lights appear to constantly stay on even after the car is turned off, and I've let it sit for a long time. Like yours, it's probably about 1% light coming from each bulb.

So your saying this should have no effect on my car's battery if I leave the LEDs in permanently?

For anyone who's wondering, here's the link of the bulbs I got. $14.99/pair:

since i obviously now have to do this, which part number did you order from the site. There's a couple that look pretty much the same, but im sure they have a diff between them. Also, are you happy with how bright these are?

Great... found this thread and now I have to do this small mod. Thanks!

Wonder if I can find these LED lights at a local shop.
