Default Hood Scoop Opinion

How do you think this scoop would look on my car. It comes in Flat Black and I think I'd leave it that way to martch my chin and rear louvers. The price is right.

Thoughts?

$73 bucks...is it functional or are you going to make it functional? Otherwise you should put a plate on the intake part as it will get ripped off the hood at moderate speeds.

No. It's not functional. I don't think there is a problem with it getting ripped off. It's bolted on. And really, even functional scoop don't really do much. Air pretty much rises right over top of them.

Yeahhh..um no. That's like saying our hoods don't have dancing problems above 80mph the wind will catch it and will rip it (the scoop) off unless you have it bolted like you plan on doing.

The only functional scoops that do anything are either he shaker ones or the Saleen S/C with shaker style intake. In essense, I agree with you.

looks good, you should ask them to send you a pic from one of their customers or see if they have any pics of it installed.

If you haven't done this type of work (drilling hoods and such) I would recommend having a pro install it for you. My brother and I butchered an install on a bolt on hood scoop, left small dents around the drill holes, the template had us drilling into the hoods "ribs" so the screws wouldn't fit right, scoop started to crack after a short while.

Ended up putting on a new hood, cost just a bit more then getting the holes welded and repainted.

Just be sure its the look you want. A cheap scoop can cost you $1000s in the end.
