Default Shaker Hood Question - Any body paint theres? Finally Pics

I am wanting to paint my Shaker to match the color of my hood (black), its staring to fade and I figured this would be a good time to take this on. I have searched this site for days and can not find anything on this.
I have seen a painted scoop on this site (prof wizard has one) but I have not seen any thing telling me what is involved in this.

1. What type of paint should I use (does it need to be high temp).
2. Does it need to be primed or can I just clean it up and shoot it.
3. If it does need high temp can I still put clear coat on after the black.

also the cowl under the scoop, should I paint it to match or leave it alone (opinion's)

thanks in advance

Leave the cowl. Mine faded too and I just sprayed it with some flat black paint. I like it better flat black. It makes it look like it's suppose to look. Not fond of a painted shaker.

That's a thought, I had not even considered flat black. Did you use a high temp paint?

Glossy is going to show EVERY little nick/scratch and surface defect.

that was a concern of mine, however I have seen one in person that a guy painted himself and it was as smooth as the finish on the hood. I know this may not be for everyone and if its a pain then I can always go back to the boring old flat. JK.

I agree with Boozshey, semi-gloss is best for that scoop.
Straight glossy black will look Getho, it's a nono...
