I eventually want to do it but i plan on installing 2010 leather seats in this summer and hopefully a pioneer avic as well. The steering wheel isn't really a priority.

Oh thats cool, i dont think im going to do the steering wheel either. I installed 2010 seats this past january.

cool. how long did the entire install take? any trouble with the airbags?

Sorry i am knew so this question is directed towards cutterwolf: did u or do you recomend replacing the bolt for the steering wheel and if so will any ford dealership have them?

Would you know by chance if a newer style (2005-2012) steering wheel would fit on a 1987-1993 foxbody? I'm looking for a oem look with a bit of style.

NO, The Fox's have a splined shaft where the 05 up Mustangs have a 6 sided hex key type mount. Totally different set up. You might switch out the whole column and all, then you could make it work possibly.

Seems like a lot of work for a steering wheel upgrade, worth it if you know what you're doing IMO

There is no need to replace the bolt. You can reuse it I did.
