I'd keep it black. If you don't like the flat look, maybe paint it glossy black to match the stripes.

I had the street scene III chin spoiler on mine. It cover the lower edge of the GT bumper then drops down another 3 inches or so.
I have a black theme on my car so I left it unpainted. The only time I had a problem with that was when the spoiler got caught in the shadows, it actually shrank the front of my stang instead of extending it.
