Default Removing hood scoop

Has anyone removed their fake hood scoop? Is it held on just by 3m tape or will I be needing to cover up a few holes?

What year? The faux factory scoop on my '07 is held on by 2 or 3 fasteners thru the hood so you'll have holes to fill and paint. Pop the hood and you'll see.

No 3M tape, it's held on by pins. Remove your hood-liner and you'll see.

Not sure what it would cost. Do what I did, when you see another Mustang the same color as yours, leave a note on the windshield and ask if they'd like to trade hoods. Worked for me. Also, check out your local Craigslist for people selling hoods.

A good bodyshop can patch and match. I've bought aftermarket parts pre-painted that were a dead-match and also had my (at the time) local Ford dealership's body shop paint my rear window louvers; another great match. It IS possible...

You might be better off finding somebody local who has the same color mustang and wants a hood scoop to swap hoods with.

I think that I've never seen any other Alloy in my area.

Keep your eyes open and place a note on their windshield. I found a guy who had a stock 09 and was dying to trade. Be patient, it'll happen.
