Replied to your PM about the weatherstrip.
I think I like your idea of the weatherstrip better. Care to share with the rest of us? Where did you get it and how is it attached to your shaker?
Nice care too BTW!

I like the trimmed look. Think i'm gonna go that route as well. Anyone have a link for the weatherstrip trim?

Here's a couple of pics of my setup. For the shaker duct to C&L box, I modified a section of the stock air duct. A future project will be an aluminum air box to hold the filter. I hate that plastic one.

Thanks D'prived, great job on yours as well!
I had bought it @ Autozone 4 yrs ago, it is a door/trunk edge weatherstrip that has a wire 'U' channel below the top weatherstrip. It just slides onto the trimmed edge of the Shaker. I cannot find the product anymore on the Autozone website. Have attached a pic that shows a similar product; found this on Amazon.com

Aircare - I have pretty much the same cuts as you have made on mine. Looks so much better than stock shaker scoop. Was waaay to much plastic on it the way it came. I went to door trim route but really like what you did on yours with the weatherstrip. Gonna have to look into that. Thanks!

Sorry for abandoning my post for a bit....went on vacation. Thanks aircare for the pics and info u emailed me...now i just gotta find the cash to buy a shaker. I am getting my car worked on next month. I am having a body shop go over the car again and fill all the nicks and scratches then "colorsand" and polish the whole thing and have the stripes redone.

Finally trimmed my shaker.

Now the filthy engine needs cleaned. Probably paint the throttle body & cam covers red next.

Thanks!

As for painting, I haven't done searched any threads yet. Are there things I need to know about before painting the throttle body or cam covers? I know removal threads are in here. Any painting issues? Or is it basically clean, prime, & paint?
