2011 mirrors on 2006 GT

Pretty easy to do. A tip to get the holes right, is to remove the foam gasket from the mirror. It is not glued to the mirror. Just becarefull around the studs. Once removed you have you template for the holes. Cover the area where the mirror is mounted with some masking tape. Place the foam gasket over the tape. Outline the holes with a sharpe. You will wind up drilling three holes, 2 are for the locating pins and 1 mounting hole. The other two mounting holes will be elongated with a rat tail file. The hole for the plug will also be elongated

I did this last summer and had it completed in less than an hour. I bought a pair of mirrors off eBay (they were already painted UA) and shipping together totalled $110. It was a fairly simple, straight forward operation. I used the gasket for the templete, cut off the alignment tabs (not a real necessity to have really), drilled out the hole on the bottom front and elongated another and plugged in the connector. Works great. I had a vision problem on the right and the convex's made that go away. I also used the 2012 interior visors with the lamps in them. Fit perfectly and they have covers to cover the screws. Nice add on. Also, the late model speaker grilles will fit right where our older models were. Nice fit. I have one more option added from the 2013, the Boss steering wheel with working radio controls for my factory navigation. I've added almost every good option that the 2012-13's have into my 07. I even added ambient lighting from an 08 up, so I have and 07 with all the later goodies. Best of both worlds in my opinion. And no car payments. lol
