Help Wheel selection, 20" 18" Mach1, Cobra?
When I first got my car the first thing I started doing was putting a Cervini kit on it, then I changed the interior LEDs and changed the stereo. I wasn't too worried about the wheels at first. They are the GT stock billet(sp?) 17" What irritates me is the wheel gaps, and the first thing everyone says is lower it. Every time i hit a bump or go over a speed bump my exhaust drags, and every time i go in or out of a driveway the front bumper scrapes, and it is not lowered, so there is no way i will lower it. But I have noticed if the tire is bigger it fills the wheel gap rather nicely. I want to get either 18" or 20" rims, and i was wondering if anyone has pix of 18"s and 20"s on mustangs that are not lowered. Also I want 5 spoke rims that are black chrome, not sure what kind, but Im leaning toward the Mach 1, or Cobra replica rims. Any suggestions?
I have included pix of a black chrome Mach 1 replica, the Cobra rim, and my car below.

Remember if you go with an 18 or a 20, the tires are usually less tall (smaller in height). With a body kit like yours, I think that 20's look more "like they belong".
That being said, you would have to get a 20" inch tire that fills the wheel well better than your 17's. You will probably have to go with a 40 to a 45 profile to fill the wheel wells in nicely. Mine are 35's in the front & 30's in the rear as far as height, but my car is lowered. Just my opinion, good luck!

I would agree with vader that the 20's are better suited given your body kit. Personally i'm not a fan of 20's, so I can't be much help with the tires needed to fill the well...now 18's is a different story
I too wanted to fill the gap a little when I went 18", so I stepped up to a 295/45/18 on the rears to help with that. Good filament on a stock suspension, but they are heavy ****'s! Fronts are 255/45/18.
Use this link, enter your current tire sizes into it and compare other sizes to find one with a slightly larger diameter.

Just put 20s on mine and it's not lowered. The tires are 255/35 which maintains the same overall diameter of the stock 18s but it looks way better than the stock 18s even though the ugly gap is still there but it seems less noticeable, maybe because I went from a 235 width to a 255. That car of yours would look good with the black chrome 20" mach 1 wheel.

Oops forgot, I like the Mach 1 style better for your car. Here they are in both 18 & 20.

OP, definitely go with the mach 1 if the choice is between these two.
I went with 18" 255/45. Stock suspension. Here's an idea of wheel gap we're talking about. Not exactly a full wheel well, but I think a definite improvement.
And if you go with a wider tread, say 275 or 285, the gap will definitely appear smaller. Reference Mayo's 295 rear set up.

First off, thanks for all the help. I also found 18" Mach 1 wheels that are chrome here

And I found powder coat to make chrome into black chrome here
http://www.powderbuythepound.com/SOL...OME_TRANS.html
Also it is not just between those two, I'd be interested in any other suggestions if they are 5-spoke.
