I'm going into my 3rd year with my white vinyl stripes. I got my stripes from baltimore street mods website. My car for the past 3 years including ice, snow and rain has been a daily driver with the stripes, to add further punishment, it was parked in an oil refinery/ construction site daily. Even one day I came out to get the car and it was covered in orange dirt from an early morning rain, dried on by the sun. I immediately washed it and it all came off. The stripes have not cracked, have not discolored or yellowed and other than rock hits my stripes still look just like when I first got them. If you can afford paint go paint but if you cant, good 3M vinyl like from baltimorestreetmods.com will take care of you for a long while and they are cut specifically for your car.

I can score (uncut) 8 inch wide black vinyl strips, I was thinking of a 2 inch gap down the center with two 8 inch stripes along each side. Course I have too trim myself, but we're talking like 40.00$ for the material.

Question before applying, do you douse with a water soap combo? then squeegie out the decal? I think thats how it was described to me once?!!

Paint, why? because you can't get this effect with vinyl stripes

I support the idea of vinyl. My dad's car has had vinyl since 09 and it looks very good for being matte white and staining easily. Just keep it clean and waxed. I should add that his car is garaged 5-6 nights a week, and it is a daily driver. Also, I say go with BLUE STRIPES! I may be biased though, check my siggy, ahaha.

Oh, and here's what happens to vinyl here in FL...

Now, if your car is garage all the time and in the shade when you're at work, you will be OK.

That looks great, Pascal!
I'm just going to come down to FL and leave my car with you for a few weeks and let you work your magic.
