Default Changing grille in 2005-2009

Ok so I had a 2004 mustang until a few months ago. some guy ran the red light and totaled it. So now my dad is looking to buy a 2005-2009 model. So he's super picky and and he wants the front end with the 4 lights instead of the two. Im pretty sure those two extra ones he wants in there are just fog lights.

But the question is:
does it really matter which one he gets? Because can't we always just replace the grille for one that has the fixture for those two extra lights in between!?!?

Im not retarded, I knew everything about my model, but I haven't had any experience with this model!

Thanx

those 2 extr fog lights come with a lot more horsepower too. ones with fogs are GT's the ones without are V6's with a few exceptions

The two middle fog lights come on the all stock GT's. The sixxers could have the pony package but you can not just swap in the GT grills into the V6's. they don't fit directly.

You could always buy the ones with fogs from AM for the V6 but i don't think they look as good.

But you are right in that you should buy the V6 or whatever model and swap in a new fascia and THEN a new grill. It's a mustang, they're meant to be customized.

The pony package (V6) comes with the smaller fogs and some chrome trim around them. so there is always that.

shelbys, GT/CS, bullit, Roush, saleens, pony packages, or any of the body kits can change this and most are different.

Anything to add or clarify? I think I got most of it.

he didn't mean that in a cruel way. He simply meant that the ones with the fog lights that you are speaking of are on the GT. So technically yes the car with fog lights does have more power, because of the V8 behind them not the lights directly.

As for the options, yeah there really is a lot of aftermarket solutions that will get the same result and probably for a lot cheaper than a GT model. But if you look around you may also be surprised that a lot of the 05-06 models can be found for really good prices. I only paid 12000 for mine 6 months ago. It's a GT premium. Everything I ever wanted except that stupid rearview mirror with the direction and temperature I can live with out it though :P

don't snap at him hes got a v6 as well. You didn't specify and the question you asked is close to the ones I get from my friends moms right before they ask if my taillights do the "boop boop boop" thing.
