Interior Decorating (w/ pics)
I've done a few things to try and spruce up the interior of my S197. Some have worked out good, some not so good.
First, some photos I took today:
Now, the first thing I added was red floor mats:

I like these a lot, and they're a perfect fit. I originally wanted to order the ones with the pony logo, but they were sold out everywhere. But I am satisfied with these.
The next piece I added was the wheel cover:

It took me probably an hour or so to sew it on, but it's very high quality material, and although expensive, I would recommend these to anyone.
On recommendation from a fellow MF'er, I ordered some Trim Bright Welt:

This is a very cheap way to do some unique customization to your car interior and set it apart. I get comments on it a lot.
And finally, I had to do something about the seats. I knew I wanted black & red, but I also didn't have the money to spend on high-end custom seats, so I thought I would take one for the team and try out some cheap ones.
This is what I bought:

Though it stated these seat covers fit my Mustang, I can attest they may in fact cover the seat, but they certainly do not conform to the seat. Also, there is no space in the back seat for the seat buckles! While black & red is better than gray, I was still let down. But that's what you get for $40, right?
Anyway, feel free to share your comments whether good or bad. If you know of any reputable seat covers available in black & red, please share with me so I can make a note for future reference.

Yep, I have to say, I love everything you've done with the interior... except those seats. I understand that the grey seats don't look great, but I may even say that they look better than the covers. Not that the color scheme looks bad, but the material looks cheap. I know you know it, just wanted you to know you're not alone in your thinking! I would save up and do the Katskin leathers. They're definitely a little more pricey, but man do they look good and red would look fantastic in your ride.
It reminds me of the Chevy Impala I had to rent when I had my accident last year. It was a 2009 but the base interior's cloth seats felt cheap and looked cheap., I couldn't believe that the car was a 2009 and still Chevy was making cloth interiors that haven't changed in 20 years...

Agree! I gotta get that done myself...such a good mod for the $$.
Start a fire with those seat covers and then stoke it with those floor mats.
I think black mats would look much better, carpet or rubber.
What's up with the turtle air freshner bro???
Kinda like putting fuzzy dice in a bmw if ya ask me.lol

I may skip the dash piece and just do the door trim. I keep my cosmetic mods to a minimal, and like to keep everything looking like it was that way off the factory line, but alittle yellow on my all black/chrome interior would POP!
Plus I just noticed the other day while wiping down my interior that I can start to see the adhesive "goo-ing" out around the leather trim....
