Mystery roof damage?
2008 Shelby GT500. PDR guy says my roof damage is from body twist.
5000 miles on car. Has all ford racing upgrades, Procal tune, suspension, 3.73 gears, short throw shift. 20" wheels w/Nittos. I drive it like I stole it most of the time.
Anybody ever seen this before? THX

It's fixed now. I thought someone sat on the roof or bounced a football off of it.
Had 2 light creases like it was oil canned from the front left corner back diagonally to the
stripes. Very faint one on the passenger side.

Honestly, that does sound like body twist to me. It's the first I've heard of it in a LONG time, but you've got some good mods on a high torque car already so I guess it's possible.
I've seen body twisting before, but usually on older high torque pick ups.

Have you done and launches on a drag strip? I guess they do make subframe connectors for our cars :

With torque damage at 5K, you must be having quite a good time! One thing that would take care of the torque would be a roll cage. They make some that are designed for the track day driver who wants to drive his car comfortably the rest of the time-something a guy can put in and still have the wife enjoy the car.
Yeah, this solution is probably overkill if all you are worried about is roof damage, but as hard as you are driving, it may not be a bad idea for your safety.

I don't buy it, not by torque...
You have a break line in the sheet metal between the quarters and the roof on these cars (under the black molding on each side).
That break line would absorb enough force under torque pressure to have minimal roof flex or none.
As opposed to the old school cars where there was no break line between the roof and both quarter panels.
Also usually, under severe roof buckle, your glass will become unsealed and let water in, lol.

I don't believe the PDR guy. Sorry but it probably was a ball or something like that. My dad has an 08 gt 500 with over 800 hp at the rear and he drives it like you when he does pull it out of the garage and he hasn't had any problems like that and I suppose it could happen but it would also stress the chassis and suspension letting you know that something else is not doing what it's supposed to, so I doubt it
