Is there any significant difference between the lighted door sill plates you can get from American Muscle and the ones that Ford has on their official accessories site? I'd really like to get a set but don't know if one type is better.

I think that they are really the same part - maybe different numbers but I think that the same place manufactures them.

My car came with them, and then I won a makeover by Classic Design Concepts and they wanted to put a custom sill plate in, like you can order from AM. Everything looked the same to me, other than the new one doesn't say "MUSTANG" now and has extra wording on it:


And they were a direct swap - just plug and play.
