Default recommend some appearance mods for my GT!

Looking for some appearance mods for my new GT, I'm not typically one to go with appearance mods over performance but I'm keeping this car for a while, and right now it's just a little too plain for me, or rather, it just looks stock! (performance mods will start first however!)

Here's some pics! I'm keeping the wheels because dropping $700+ on wheels when I have these and the stock ones already seems kinda dumb, I would consider plastidipping them a different color maybe... I'm thinking a gt500 spoiler, maybe a rear window louver or side window ones, some sort of chin spoiler, etc. Keep the stripes or get rid of them? give me some input on what you think would look good on my Stang!

Front chin spoiler
Side window louvers
Read deck lid
Painted side mirror caps

I like the stripes, maybe even extend them across the bumpers.

LED/HID lighting? Lol seriously though, good place to start...and some different corner lights...it makes a big difference for few dollars

Or...

1. Lower it
2. Tint
3. Louvers
4. Paint Brake Calipers (cheap!)
5. 2010+ Mirrors with caps
6. Chin Spoiler
7. GT500 prepainted spoiler ($125) ebay
8. Black out the center between the tail lights
9. Remove stripes
10. Hurst shifter

These are just a few simple things I could think of that are relatively cheap, plus there are lots of great parts in the classifieds.

Thanks
Nick C.

I really like those wheels, so good call on keeping them. If you want to keep the stripes, maybe extend them all the way down the bumpers as well? If not, I like Diode Dynamics' list. I have the MMD Retro Mirrors from American Muscle and love them. Something so small made a huge impact on the overall look.

If I had your car....

GT/CS Front bumper with GT/H Lower grill and fogs
GT/CS Rear bumper
2010 painted mirrors
GT/CS side scoops (not a fan of 1/4 panel scoops, limits visibility, suprisingly I use them lol)
Black center fog upper grill
GT500 spoiler
Black Turn signals from AM (not tinted)
GT500SS matte black stripe from front to back (remove double stripes that dont go all the way down front and rear!!!!!)
SHR Honeycomb trunk blackout panel
black out faux chrome gas cap

.... BUT FIRST...... GET RID OF THAT LIGHTNING ROD ON YOUR FENDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lmfao

Pluck the GT emblem off the back and then black it out with just a hole for the key.
Cover those side mirrors with AM ($90-80?) covers in your body paint.
Yes on the GT-500 wing in Gray, looks fantastic.
I'd remove the stripes altogether. Go with some carbon fiber trim outside and inside.
Dump the GT mufflers get FRPP up-grades. The sound is sophisticated not just loud.
Some neon under vehicle lighting with a low base theme music appropriate to your persona. I would have red neon with J.J. Moroders Cat People, sung by David Bowie.

Above all, don't do too much to the outside, it'll look exactly like it looks...you just threw the kitchen sink at it because you could. You don't want to be an American Muscle Clown Car Club member (AMCCC).

One of the neatest mods I've seen in a while was - Take off the chrome AC/Heater vent covers, tape off the dash and paint the tubes that stick-out from the dash the color of the car and replace the covers and it's like a Ferrari. Then get a shift ball the same color from Road Dawg. But be carful the all yellow dash insert I saw on a Yellow Mustang made it look like a 13 year old Japanese school girl designed it.

Don't be a AMCCC member.

P.S. Yah, what Stang-Aholic said. That emblem on the back is just taped-on, a putty-knife will pop it off.

Yeah I'm not gonna go overboard, tuner, axleback and maybe a midpipe will be my first mods, along with window tint, and a touchscreen headunit for my shaker 1000. Then a chin spoiler of some variety, and a gt500 wing or wingless maybe, a decklid panel and destripe it.. and maybe tint the tails or go aftermarket I've got a jeep I'm almost done fixing up that should get me $6k of play money, but it's gotta last me til next summer so I'm going slow, but 4.10s, a short throw shifter, and suspension are in the plans too!
