Default Seat Head Rests

I drive in a very upright position. In my 2005 Mustang, the head rest had my head bent forward. I removed the head rests, but need to replace them with something else. Has anyone used the TMI adjustable angle headrests? Do they make a straight plane with the seat back in the most raised position? How have they lasted over the years? Are they durable? Is there a better option than the TMI? I like that TMI is Made in USA, but $274 seems a bit high. Thanks for your advice.

When I first saw the design I thought it would be awkward but it doesn't bother me.

I saw the same ones here for a little less;

I used the cheap fix. Just turn the stock around. For long trips I found a little round pillow that will strap to the head rest. Very comfy but not to stylish.

I thought of that. I agree on the not too stylish. Those headrests must look odd facing backward. Of course, that's your chance to BS someone and tell them, "Hey, the factory made them like that!"

Well I only turned the drivers around and I get get compliments on my car all the time, but none ever ever said anything about the headrest. Function over form for me when driving.

Do they offer any protection against whiplash when turned backwards?

I'm not surprised on the compliments. The white fastbacks are great looking cars.

As far as the headrests, I removed both of mine. I drive with the seat almost straight vertical. I was amazingly uncomfortable with my head bent forward. Maybe you should turn the passenger side around too.

I imagine they would, since they still protect you from having your head whip back over the seat in an accident.

I saw your Santa Picture. This is a picture of my dog in his favorite chair. Remind you of anyone?
