Default bonding with urethane

I have some small plastic and fiberglass parts to attach to an 05. The typical side scoops on the quarter panel and louvers on the quarter window. Double sided 3M tape seems to be the new way of attaching things. It all seems too easy and I don't trust it. Would a bead of urethane windshield adhesive be better?
I understand I need to lightly sand and alcohol wipe the surfaces first.

If prepped properly you should be fine. I have the factory GTCS side scoops and they come factory with plastic push pin tabs which you can use or not, but you need to drill holes in the body if you do use them. My roush side lovers have three parts attached with the double tape but also have a small bolt you bolt to the fasteners on the windows. Many of the aftermarket brand scoops and lovers are only double tape, on occasion you hear of someone losing a louvre at speed, but not sure how well of a prep job they did.

Your logic is horrible. You don't trust it because its "too easy and I don't trust it."???? I could understand if you had some horror story about the stuff failing and causing catastrophic damage. Regardless, follow the instructions and go with what is recommended. The company who made your louvers AND 3M wouldn't be in business if they recommended crap to their customers.

I would opt for the much easier, non paint damaging, tried and true way....but that's just me.

3M tape only fails when it's not factory installed.
Meaning... a non pro will over look the adhesion/cleaning process and contaminate the tape surface upon install.
My 3 piece duck tail spoiler is secure by 3M tape only since 2007... it ain't moving.
Forget that urethane crap, not only it's overkilled but you'll ruin the paint if you decide to remove the part later for some reason...

Do you mean "adhesion promoter"?

if so, its a wipe you use after prepping the surface and wiping with alcohol, just before you apply the double side tape.
