If you don't mind, gabb, could you give a brief detail of applying that leather to the console; (type of glue or some other adhesive used, etc) Many thanks! I have been trying to find a way to cover up the scratched console I have, and this looks really great! Unfortunately, the Redline site has no install guide for the console.

Anybody have a "how-to" about attaching the leather to the console? I'm in the midst of painting my console, and the swearing has already begun with the finicky rattle can nozzles ruining a lot of prep work!! I'm leaning heavily towards the leather, but don't want to get "stuck" doing it wrong!!
Thanks to anyone who could help!

My father in law who's done interiors says there's an adhesive spray (more rattle can!) and you spray both the leather and the console. When it is tacky after 5-10 minutes, that's when it will stick. He said you use wood dowels or paint sticks to keep the leather suspended above the console and as you press the leather onto the console, you remove the dowels as you progress. As soon as the leather touches the console it will stick to it, so that's why you need to make sure it's suspended.

To that, I said, why not put the leather face side down, then dowels then the console and just drop it on. He said if you get it exactly right the first time, sure, but if you don't...well good luck dummy is how he put it.
