Default door panel inserts gone....

Hey all, ive had my 05 GT for about a year now and when I bought it, the door panel inserts were missing and I didn't think anything about it. the car was in overall really great shape. couple weeks ago I thought id get some material and make my own. HAHA.. I realized very quickly im not upholsterer at all. I don't want to spend money on the very nice ones that a sponsor has on here just to mess up the install and have them look like $h!t... then I though about just spraying the missing insert portion with black bedliner and calling it good. any thoughts, advice or comments? any would be appreciated. thanks in advance,

Check out Redline Goods. They have the replacement leather pieces for it.

If you don't want to upholster them you could try these. I think it was around $200 for just the center panel overlay if you don't need the whole kit.

Been there done that on the reglue thing. It's only temporary (at least in AZ) The heat cycles cause the material to expand and contract and it does so at a different rate than the underlying door panel. Eventually the trim will just peel off again and shrink in some cases so it won't fit again.

You either need to get it redone by a professional (or with professional type materials that have the foam backing built into the back of it) or use a suede or cloth based material. Cloth and suede don't swell and shrink like vinyl.

My sons friend had the issue on his stang and tried regluing it. Only a temp fix. He ended up having a pro upholstery shop replace them. No worries in over 1 1/2 years. I also tried regluing my daughters 06 escape door trim. Same issue. Ended up going with a micro-suede and doing it myself again, no problems anymore!

Me as well. I have the boring Dove grey interior. I upgraded everything inside my car except the door panels. Better to leave stock than have sagging material. Waiting for a good fix.
