I see many a set of these where they sequence once when you hit the brakes but I am looking for ones that only sequence when you use the signals. I read the instructions and saw the different settings, but could not tell 100% if there was a setting where the sequences only happened when you use the blinkers?

The relay operates when the circuit is complete, meaning, every time you depress the brake pedal or turn on a blinker the sequencing initiates.
I bought the Drake kit but found the inside bulb holder was a poorer quality than the outside 2 bulb holders. This made the inside bulb flakey - sometime it would work but other times not - so I bought a new holder and replaced them both and all good now. Kind of a PITA though.
Also I don't like that the lights sequence once when the brakes are pushed. To me they should only sequence when the turn signals are on - not the brakes. Apparently this brake sequencing is illegal in some places. Some other kits have a cable between the left and right so it knows if the brakes are on and no sequencing.
I bought a kit that had really nice hardware and it came with the phone cable to make the brake lites not sequence. I didn't install that cable; I am going to wait until I take it in for inspection and see what they say.
The thing I like about the Drake setup is the ability to program different flashing modes.
