Default Factor HID headlight issue

Last night, on my 2008, I noticed the driver side headlight was not turning on. I tried to determine if this was just a busted bulb by seeing if the high beams were working, but neither low/high beam works. Does this mean that this is an issue with the ballast, or could it be something else? I have factory HIDs btw. Thanks for any help.

start with checking the fuses; cars with factory HIDs have separate fuses for the left and right headlamps.
