I bet that has been discussed before, but I did not find it, links welcome.

my questions:

- is the gt appearance package scoop the same or different than a cs scoop?
if there is a difference links or pic would be great.

- which pre-painted option should I consider if I want to add one?
if there were a difference based on the previous question I would look for a cs version.

any pointers, info, etc appreciated

Yes the appearance pack scoop is the same as on the CS.

The CS base model doesn't get a hood scoop, it uses the appearance pack scoop as an option.

adding oem (style/design/quality) hood scoop options?
- new oem ford, comes primed, needs to be painted, doable but i'm a bit worried about color match,
- any PRE-PAINTED oem (style/design) w honeycomb grill out there?

can't find any used on ebay or CL, let alone the right color (candy apple red).

Are you set on oem style? There are other similar styles like roush and Shelby.

yup, want to go oem.

just bought a 09 CS convertible, should be delivered in the next week or less.

only thing "missing" (totally subjective of course) is the appearance package, which in this case narrows down to the engine cover and the hood scoop.
